Hopefully starting to see some more sites in here that are more than the "astonishing the masses" with definitions and other insults to intelligence.

How To Use Pay Per Click Advertising To Drive A Stampede Of Targeted Leads To Your Site

This one was actually pretty good.  Relevant and in a bulleted list, I could scan, stop and read, and it all made sense.

Blogs: 50 most powerful

This one doesn’t have much to do with PPC other than the domain name, and I’ve read this list before, but it’s still a classic if you’ve got the time to read through all 50.

Overture Pay Per Click

GAH!

That’s really all I’ve got to say on this one, and you totally know the face I’m making right now too.

Who s Buying Lotto Tickets Today?

DOUBLE GAH!

Business Owner’s guide to SEO - Search Engine Optimization

Frighteningly enough, this isn’t even the first time I’ve seen this article and thought, "Wonder where they stole this from, ’cause this bugger sure didn’t write it!"

Heaps in here today, looks like it was saved up from the last week or so…

"The Future Of Internet Marketing" Key Topic for Panel of Industry Thought Leaders

L.I.S.A. looks interesting and I would totally check it out were I even on that continent. I hope they’re prepared to actually tackle the idea that Social Media is going to drive many of the major players next campaigns.  I mean, wasn’t it Kmart or Target or somebody that started up a Facebook and MySpace page?  Let’s hope LISA can talk about how important it is to not jump in too early and ruin their reputation too fast.

Eyeballs Prefer Google

Interesting piece about newspapers and internet.  Sure, it’s out there for marketing purposes, but I’ll let my hypocrisy rest for today… articles like this are ones that I would write.

The Basics Of Internet Marketing

Even though this one is clearly an SEO grab, I advise people to check it out if for no other reason that as a lesson on how to write a decently-worded and relatively decent read, that is SEO’ed to the gills.  Want to learn how to write for search users AND search engines?  This is a fantastic example.

Internet Marketing Services

Another example of the same as above, though not quite as good of a read, it is still something that I would write for either a client or myself.

Search Engine Marketing - 16/5/08

I’m pretty sure that, by leaving off the "Australia" or "Perth" I am leaving myself open to getting lots of worthless articles about Search Engine Marketing in my inbox.  It could be that the Aussies just aren’t interested in spamming Press Releases and such, I would LOVE to think so.

Ten Commandments of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

This one came in the SitePro Newsletter, but this guy reprinted it with credit to Bhaskar Thakur.  I wonder why I didn’t get that newsletter…

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) click through advertising fraud

This one is long, probably SEO’ed, but is good for entertainment if for no other reason than the little wavy American flag and the complete state of unreadiness the author seemed to be in when that pic was snapped.  Funny.

Search Engine Marketing Case Study - traffic up by 60%

This one is still kind of markety, but is an interesting read.  A bit of a Case Study.

What Is The Definition Of SEO?

Shoemoney!  Love this guy and he’s all over the forums and blogs and alerts and my twitter… that sounded dirty.  Good ol’ ShoeMoney interviews the BIGs in the industry and gets a great list of quotes.

Website Traffic Building Strategies – Local Search Engine Marketing

Another one that’s a bit remedial and basic for the average StumbleUponer, but it’s amusing to me simply for the usage of the background colour ONLY on the text.  U-G-L-Y and funny at the same time.

Lots of these as well, and not just because I’ve been slack these days.

“Google never generates demand”: why match-backs matter

A decent article that is a bit educational too, which is good.

The Best Contact Form Ever?

Hey, wasn’t I just talking about my buddy Andy?  This one is a keeper and I’m always extra pleased when blogs I read show up on my alerts.

Win at Web Analytics: Convey Your Test Ideas Better

Curious article about wireframing your ideas.  I couldn’t quite find what it had to do with Web Analytics, but I AM the typical web user and don’t spend too much time on any one article unless it’s REALLY good.

Okay, the rest were just the standard tripe, so I left ‘em out.  Like I said, only on a slow day.

Heaps of these today too, so I’ll try and filter out those using press releases to sound like they’re bringing you something NEW!! when they are, in fact, ipmping their own site and giving you bits of ad copy.

Unique quality content ‘needed for SEO’

Haha, unless it’s one like this one, where it’s so obvious that it makes me snicker.

NEWS FLASH!!! You are currently using The INTERNET!

OTHER NEWS FLASH!  Something Obvious!!!

Any sense to keyword density?

Quality, and the kind of article that reminds me why I link all these folks.

Cutting costs with recruitment SEO

Link Baiting SEO

Google mops up 85 per cent of SEO spending

I bundled these because the above three are all the same company.  Still worth reading, if only because of the honesty.

Shoot up Google list

I have to admit, the only reason this one is on here is because it sounds like some sort of illicit drug using.  But alas, it’s just another company pimping themselves as Google Experts and "We know how to do SEO, and it’s so new and exciting that we need to release it to you this way!"

Online consumers ’should be suspicious’ of businesses

This one’s just funny, that somehow I should utilise SEO to make sure that others are legit.  WOW, I’m sensing a trend here with the whole Press Release thingo.

Search Engine Optimization Strategies for Managing Your Reputation

Decent advice and a good article.  However, any reputation management I do will be linked straight back to my buddy Andy Beal.

Benefits of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Services

Yet another in the long list of "Articles that explain SEO in brief".  Maybe I’m just too far into the industry these days, but I can’t imagine anyone happening along to one of these pages and going "Oh!  That’s how it works!"

There’s a heap of these today, so I’ll try and get the best of them up and then go back and read the rest to see if they’d even be worth on a slow day.

Online affiliate marketing set to scale new heights

A Press Release about how affiliate marketing is going to take the world by storm.  Probably a bit of fluff, but it plants a brain seed or two.

Local.com Wins 2008 Internet Advertising Competition Outstanding Achievement Award

Another press release pimping somebody’s company, but I like reading about people that win stuff and are doing well and such.

Aegis buys web search placement firm

Interesting PR about the purchase of a German firm.  I like this stuff because, like the one above, I can fantasise about seeing MY company’s name in one of these.

Internet Marketing Technique Increase Website Traffic on Google

Yet another press release pimping somebody’s outfit, this one offers something back in the form of a site that offers discussion and at least the pretence of educating us poor ignorant SEOs.

Simple Steps To Improve Website Conversion Rates

A good blog post and worth a read.  It’s short and sweet, but relevant.

Internet marketing and Traditional MLM marketing, They can be done together.

Not the best grammar or use of English, but a decent article nonetheless.

What Is Internet Marketing And Seo ?

Apparently, they have something to do with pasting an article like this anywhere and everywhere, as it showed up TWICE in my alerts on different sites.  Obviously, this dude doesn’t keep track of things like the Duplicate Content policy.

I think the comments that seem to appear under this guy’s posts are also highly suss.  Check both of them, they feel like the same person to you?

These keywords seem to score me more junk than is worth it, but it seems like there’s always a few links in there that are worth a look, so I keep it.

Golden rule to being a great conversationalist

If you gush about every blog post or article you link to, then you come across as being a bit insincere.  I know this, yet I do it anyway and don’t even worry about how I sound because I know that I’m sincere.

That said, this one is brilliant.  You should read it if you have any interest in how to succeed in Social Media Marketing these days.

Do You Avoid Scams?

I like this one because not only do I do the same things to avoid scams, but I almost did it to his article.  That gave me a giggle.  Still not a bad article, all up.

Pay-Per-Click Advertising - 14/5/08

There’s a few of these for today, and not just because I missed a few days.

Derrick Harper’s Wealth Funnel System (WFS) and Developmental Performance Consultants (DPC) Introduce Pay Per Click vs. Organic Search Engine Marketing/Optimization

Another that’s a bit remedial, but woven into their basic explanations is that it’s a News Release.  Kind of obvious to me that they’re doing it for SEO and SEO only, but at least it’s written like they’re trying to inform you.  Though if they’re thinking that they need a Press Release to tell people about SEO and Pay Per Click, then that’s a bit condescending.  Meh.

Let’s get personal: Advances in online advertising

Pretty damn good article about advertising, pay per click and other, where we’re at with them and where they seem to be going.  A good read if you’ve got a minute.

Pay Per Click Advertising Roundup

Another posting similar to the ones that I do here, but a bit more comprehensive on who they’ve found and such.

Pay Per Click Advertising - The Way The Masters Do It

This one starts out by mentioning lawyers… but it didn’t scare me off.  They link to a video that seems a bit too long for me, but is educational if you don’t happen to know anything about Pay Per Click Advertising.  Or are a lawyer.  HA!

Been a bit behind on these, apologies.  I’ll combine a few of the others to catch up.

WebSpy Wins Prestigious iAward

I must have missed the iAwards, which sucks, and I’m not sure how I did that.  But, this thing looks kind of cool.  Sort of a ‘Big Brother is Watching You’ tool, but still highly interesting.  Makes me NOT miss the days spent in an office though.

Search Engine Optimisation Australia - 14/5/08

I’ve decided to forego picking on the unusually-worded crap that seems pervasive from certain areas of the globe and dedicate this linky goodness to this one:

Spam Your Way To The Top

EXACTLY how I feel about it.  There are a few in my own backyard that pull crap like this and I would love the opportunity to "out" them, if not for my own personal ethics transcending themselves into my business ethics.  All I’ll say is that a search for the terms that I’m obviously targeting consistently gets you a certain "type" of site, with a certain type of feel, that may have a different domain name to the last search but that also just so happens to belong to the same guy (where a WHOIS lookup will tell you he owns 488 domains).

Anyway, this article nails it, and I’m pleased it’s out there.  Good on ya BlackMax.
